The Revolutionary Salon
As the Romantic movement burst forth into the nineteenth century, it brought with it a new musical form, the wind quintet. Born in the post-revolutionary salons of Paris the wind quintet was at once earthy and sophisticated—and the Romantics made it their own. Here we showcase works by Mozart/Mengal, Reicha, Muller and the earliest of all wind quintets, one of Cambini’s 3 Quintetti Concertans, Livre 1.    BOOK
