Born in the post-revolutionary salons of Paris the wind quintet was at once earthy and sophisticated—and the Romantics made it their own.
Here we showcase works by Mozart/Mengal, Reicha, Muller and the earliest of all wind quintets, one of Cambini’s 3 Quintetti Concertans, Livre 1. limpid adagios follow dazzling allegros—there’s something here for
